Biography
Dr. Betsy DiSalvo is an Assistant Professor in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology. At Georgia Tech she leads the Culture and Technology (CAT) Lab, which engages in the study of values-driven learning and the impact of cultural values on technology use and production. Currently, the CAT Lab is exploring parents’ use of information technology to improve their children’s educational opportunities, maker oriented learningapproaches in computer science, participatory and meta design, and developing several digital games for learning. DiSalvo, with Jason Yip, Elizabeth Bonsigniore and Carl DiSalvo, edited a volume recently published by Routledge titled Participatory Design for Learning: Perspectives from Practice and Research.
